Student Activities

The technical Association of the Electrical Engineering students of MBCET  ‘Illumina’  started its journey on 4th March 2005 with  HOD Prof. M K Giridharan, Faculty in charge Mr.Disney James and the elected student office bearers aiming at developing the technical skills and knowledge of the students through various seminars, technical workshops, paper presentations etc. The inaugural ceremony was conducted with Dr.R.Shankaran, Dean ‘SHASTRA’, Tanjore as the chief guest. Many of the famous personalities in the field have been invited for this. Apart from enhancing the technical skill the students are voluntarily involved in many social and charity activities which gives them During these years ‘Illumina’ has developed in its structure and working nature to a wide extent that the students graduated each year are mould to be a holistic citizen demonstrating social and ethical responsibilities .Some milestones of the ‘Illumina’ is as follows
 

  •     Many intra college quiz programmes and paper presentations.
  •     Poster Design competition on Electrical based whacky topic.
  •     A seminar on ‘Switchgear & Protection’ by Mr.S.S Biju, Asst. Executive Engineer, KSEB Date: 31st July 2009.
  •     A presentation on Electrical CAD by InterCAD Solutions. Date: 7th August 2009.
  •     A workshop on Electronics Circuits. (for  students) Date: 18th September 2009.
  •     The Eco Social Resource (ESR) Club of Illumina conducted a fund raiser programme for donating to the pediatric ward of RCC on 10th October 2009.Entertainment programmes were presented before the affected children.
  •     Student Centric Activities-A presentation on ‘How to present a seminar’ for S1S2 EE students Date: 13th October 2009.
  •     Workshop on Energy conservation and Management for S6 EE students. By R.Harikumar ,Energy specialist, EMC Trivandrum Date: 13th January 2010.
  •     Presentation on Emerging Technology in Electrical CADD and its opportunities by resource persons from CADD Centre ,Trivandrum. Date: 4th   February2010.
  •     ESR club of Illumina donated wheelchair to the disabled children at the Missionaries of Charity, PMG on 13th March 2010.
