Crossroads 2018, the annual techno-cultural fest was held on March 3rd, 4th and 5th 2018. Every edition of crossroads has a theme and we attempt to assimilate this into the very fabric of the fest. This time, the tagline is: MANIFEST THE INFINITE. It provides a platform for all college students to showcase their talents and also provides an arena to compete against the best in the country.
The various prizes and awards were distributed to the students during the prize giving ceremony after which the audience was treated to a vibrant and rich display of cultural programs performed by the students. The following two days were exciting and fun-filled, with over 17 Technical and 31 Cultural events. The event was organized and executed by the Crossroads Core Committee:

Crossroads 2017, the annual techno-cultural fest was held from 31st March, 2017 to 2nd April, 2017 with the tagline: Dream. Impel. Explore. The event was inaugurated by Shri. Kunchako Boban, a well known cine artist, following which we had the College Day Celebrations. The various prizes and awards were distributed to the students during the prize giving ceremony after which the audience was treated to a vibrant and rich display of cultural programs performed by the students. The following two days were exciting and fun-filled, with over 15 technical and 30 cultural events. Around 25 colleges from different parts of the country participated for the same. The second and first year students stood with the third year students and together the various events were wonderfully conducted. It would not have been possible without the guidance and advice given by the senior students. Overall, Crossroads 2017 helped all the students work together and understand the importance of teamwork and mutual respect leading to the grand success of the fest.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering in Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Nalanchira released the logo of offroads 2017. The art work of logo release was done by Ms. Fathima Hakkim.
CROSS ROADS & COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATION, 2016 - Esteemed by the presence of various famous personalities like Shri. Sooraj Santhosh, Shri. Aju Varghese, Shri. Neeraj Madhav, Shri. Ramesh Pisharadi, Shri. Sabumon Abdusmad. About forty events were conducted which spread over 5 venues. It brought to life Magic of cinema with the theme being “CELLULOID".
Two unique events were organized as curtain raiser -
"Paint A Wall Spread A Smile" dated 13th February, 2016 - In coordination with Pallium India, the event was an initiative to paint a wall in ten houses of bed-ridden patients in Trivandrum according to their will. Aiming as a gesture from our side to brighten their colourless lives.
"Always in our Hearts" dated 29th February, 2016 - It was a memorial function remembering the dauntless comrades who lost their lives in the Pathankot attack and the Saichen tragedy. This event was esteemed by the presence of officers from three wings-AirForce,Navy and Military ,former ISRO Chairman Mr.G Madhavan Nair, Cine Actor Mr. Bharat Suresh Gopi.
Crossroads 2015 was held on 14th, 15th and 16th February 2015 with the theme “Light”. The fest included 26 cultural events and 14 technical events spread over three days. Techno-cultural fest ended with the meganite in 16th February 2015 with Mr. Naresh Iyer and Masala Coffee performing together live for the first time. The active participation from various Engineering Colleges in Kerala, contributed to the success of the event.
Crossroads 2014,the National Level Techno-Cultural Fest was inaugurated by Shri, Fahad Fazil, the renowed Cine Artiste, on 28 Feb 2014. His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, Major Archbishop of Trivandrum and Patron, MBCET, presided over the function. 40 Technical Events were held on 1 and 2 March 2014. The Fest came to a close on 2 March with the Pro-show by the Band "Agam" and Q8. Ms. Gayathri Krishnan B. (Civil Service Rank No. 37) an Eminent Alumnus of MBCET was felicitated on the occasion.
The auto expo organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering in Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Nalanchira was held on March 1&2 at Mar Ivanios ground, Nalanchira. The inaugural function took place on 1 March at 11:00 am and was presided over by Rev. Raju Parukoor, Dr. T. M. George and Prof. K. M. Raju. MBCET has finally provided a platform for all the automobile lovers to showcase their best. The yesteryears’ vintage vehicles, amazingly and crazily modified cars and bikes and the most luxurious vehicles which one can only dream of were at display at OFFROADZ 2014. The auto expo witnessed Aero show of small Static Aircraft Models and Radio Controlled Dynamic Aircraft. It entertained the spectators with acrobatic moves. The aircraft was controlled by the NCC student wing, Cadet Warrant Officer's Muhammed Mysha Ashraf and Arya U. P., who won the Gold medal at the All India remote controlled aircraft competition at the Republic Day parade, New Delhi.
With the theme "SAFETY IS IN OUR HANDS" a road safety campaign was held on 23 February 2014 at Sanghumugham beach which received a great response from the public. The session started with beach cleaning in association with Department of Tourism. A sand sculpture of a hand holding a car was casted by Sri. Deepak Moutatil. The evening session was inaugurated by Sri. Harikumar, Sub. Inspector of Police, Valiyathura, followed by a public interaction session on road safety awareness. All the people who gathered there lighted up candles around the sculpture in memory of their loved ones who lost their lives in road accidents.
Crossroads has established itself as a National Inter collegiate Techno-Cultural Fest. Crossroads 2013, organized by Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology was held from 22 to 24 February 2013. The theme of the Fest was ‘Melting Pot of Cultures’ and the tag line was ‘Appreciate Every Day You Live’. Padmasri Jayaram who inaugurated the Fest was honoured by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis by presenting him a memento. The three day long Fest, presented a contest for more than 30+ events with a prize money of 4 lakhs. “It’s My City", a project competition and “Matinee”, the Film Fest were highly appreciated. Sri. V. S. Sivakumar, the Hon’ble Minister for Health, presented the award to the winners of the “It’s My City". The technical event provided space for re-defining the capital city and for exploring new avenues of Tourism. Sri. Sivakumar appreciated the efforts taken over the project and spent time in viewing the proposed model of Trivandrum Mono-rail Station, which was exhibited on the occasion. The model was produced as part of the competition "Bob the Builder". The Crossroads came to a close with the Meganite led by Mr. Stephen Devassy, Mr. Vijay Prakash, Mr. Rahul Nambiar and Ms. Ramina Reddy.
Offroadz & Armory Expo
The second edition of “Offroadz”, the auto show, organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, was held on 23 & 24 Feb. 2013. It presented the finest brands in auto industry this year. The Armory Expo was an added attraction this year. The response of the public was quite encouraging and their participation, beyond expectation.
